Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of class VII–2 students at SMP Negeri 9 Kendari in Natural Sciences Learning through the NHT (Numbered Heads Together) type cooperative learning model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research which consists of 2 cycles. This research was carried out from March to May 2019 in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The subjects of this research were students of Class VII-2 SMPN 9 Kendari. Research data in the form of student learning motivation was obtained through observation during the research, while data on student learning outcomes was obtained through tests at the end of each cycle. The results of the research show that the implementation of the Numbered Heads Together model of cooperative learning can improve the science learning outcomes of class VII-2 students at SMP Negeri 9 Kendari from 58.33% in the first cycle to 86.1% in the second cycle.
